Four PNHS Faculty Named Microsoft Ambassadors
Four faculty members of the Senior High School are among this year’s Microsoft Education Ambassadors. Jomar L. Chua, Andres P. Bonifacio, Maria Aurea R. Jabon, and Jasmin Uy will be joining a group of individuals from all over the country who were selected based on their competency and passion for education, technology and teaching.
As Microsoft Education Ambassadors, the three will aid Microsoft Philippines in uplifting the quality of education in the Philippines, innovation in the classroom through technology, and efficient and proper use of technology in teaching and learning. They will undergo a three-day mandatory training course that covers both soft skills and technical skills as pre-requisite to the program. Project AWARE 2 will equip PNHS graduates for job
JP Morgan Chase Foundation and the Education Development Center (EDC) chose Panghulo National High School as the first and the only beneficiary of Project AWARE 2 (Accelerating Work Achievement and Readiness for Employment 2) among the schools in the Division of Malabon City last February 21, 2017. This was made possible through the efforts of Dr. Flordelita G. Male-NCR Education Supervisor and SHS Coordinator, SDS Dr. Jenilyn Rose B. Corpuz, CESO VI, Dr. Melody Cruz-PSDS and Senior High School Coordinator of the Division of Malabon City and PNHS Principal Mrs. Lolita L. Acuña in coordination with Ms. Angelique Charisse H. Roux, Philippines Country Manager-AWARE 2.
AWARE 2 is a work-based curriculum or learning system which promotes the benefits and the integration of technology in preparing learners to the future digital economy. In order to implement ICT career-focused curicula integrating core and industry-specific technical and soft skills, engagement of the whole school community is imperative. This includes faculty members and parents. AWARE 2 Core Program Elements: Work Ready Now! + Work-Based Learning+ Weekend Boot Camps, each gives everyone the privilege to create an environment suitable for students to scale their capacity forward to digital economy. The introduction of this project benefits the students of Panghulo NHS as it builds greater opportunity to Senior High School students under the TVL or Technical-Vocational-Livelihood strands, specially the incoming Grade 12 learners. The partner companies are committed in providing exposure to work-related experiences to Panghulonians on their immersion.

Car, who will serve and will be designated as “Microsoft Philippines Ambassadors” will participate the trainings this coming April 17-20, 2017 provided for the teachers who will pioneer AWARE 2 in Malabon City.

Laluna joins international photo youth contest
Senior High School animation student Daryl Laluna luckily beat the deadline set last January 29, 2017 in the “I live by the Sea” International Photo Youth Contest organized by Today We Have team in cooperation with Ocean Sanctuary Alliance, Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations in New York. Laluna is competing under 16 to 18 years old categories. The contest is open to participation of young people around the world and is aimed at using visual art in order to highlight issues related to seas, oceans and marine environment. Submitted works will be evaluated by a panel of international judges, experts in different in different areas - photography, marine issues and education. Winning photos and texts will be selected and presented at a special exhibition during the High-Level UN Conference which will be held in June 2017 in United Nations in New York. | Admin | Published February 20, 2017
